Larry Bass M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Bass is a nationally recognized innovator and authority on advanced technologies in aesthetic plastic surgery. He has written and lectured extensively over the past 18 years on his research in advanced surgical techniques including endoscopic and laser procedures. He has presented his research results and aesthetic surgery techniques at before the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and Giants in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Symposium sponsored by Manhattan Eye, Ear & ThroatHospital.
He has served on the Device and Technique Assessment Committee of the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation, the Nonsurgical Techniques Committee of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Board of Directors of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery. He directs a course "Emerging Technologies in Plastic Surgery" at NYU to train surgeons in the latest advances which is in its 12th year. Dr. Bass is Director of the Minimally Invasive Plastic Surgery Program at NYUMedicalCenter where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Steven H. Dayan M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Dayan is a Facial Plastic Surgeon who has achieved double board certification by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. He is an international lecturer, a national physician educator and a pioneer in the research and development of plastic surgery technologies and techniques.
Using his experience and knowledge gained, Dr. Dayan has published over 50 articles, book chapters and monographs. He has authored several books educating his peers on the latest and safest techniques and devices. His book, Fillers, Neurotoxins and Beyond, has an international distribution and is approved for 5 CME credits. His most recent book, Thrive, has resulted in a national series of training seminars that educate physicians on optimizing minimally invasive, limited downtime procedures in their practice.
Dr. Dayan has appeared on over 45 news segments and has filmed with CNN, NBC, FOX, WGN and ABC. In addition to regular news appearances, Dr. Dayan has a consumer book recently released by Hatherleigh Press (New York, N.Y) titled Instant Beauty.
Through his role as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois and monthly preceptorships, Dr. Dayan has trained over 3,500 physicians. In addition to a practice that sees over 4,500 patients a year, Dr. Dayan has founded and serves as a medical director for a research company (DeNova Research), a skin care center (True Skin Care), a state-accredited educational center for estheticians (True University) and a medical marketing company (IF Marketing).
David J. Goldberg, M.D.
Dr. Goldberg earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his dermatology residency and dermatologic surgical fellowship at New YorkUniversityMedicalCenter. He has served as President as well as Chairman of both the Ethics and International Committees of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). Dr. Goldberg was the first ever recipient of the ASLMS Leon Goldman award named after the founder of laser medicine. He is past Chair of the Ethics Committee of both the AmericanAcademy of Dermatology and the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. He has also been a member of the board of directors of both ASDS and ISDS. He was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology and as Secretary to the Board of Directors of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Goldberg is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Director of Laser Research of NY’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is also Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Chief of Dermatologic Surgery at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School He has published over 125 peer-reviewed manuscripts and is author of books on Laser Hair Removal; Ablative and Non-ablative Skin Rejuvenation; Photodamaged Skin, Complications in Cutaneous Laser Surgery, and most recently Dermal Fillers in Dermatology . Dr. Goldberg has performed pivotal research studies in the areas of laser hair removal, non-ablative skin treatments, dermal fillers and new botulinum toxins. He is on the editorial boards of the Lasers in Surgery and Medicine and Dermatologic Surgery. He is current Senior Chief-Editor of the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy. Finally, Dr. Goldberg is an attorney having graduated from NY’s Fordham University School of Law where he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law and teaches a course entitled “Advances in Health Care Law.”
Roxanne Guy M.D., F.A.C.S.
Former ASPS President
Dr. Roxanne Guy has the distinction of serving the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) as its first female president. She has previously served with ASPS as president-elect, vice president, Iraq International Services Task Force liaison, chair of the Public Education and Advocacy committees, and on various committees including the Breast Implant Task Force and Women Plastic Surgeons Forum Steering Committee. Dr. Guy is owner and founder of Brevard Plastic Surgery and SkinTreatmentCenter in Melbourne, Fla., and she has practiced reconstructive and cosmetic surgery in BrevardCounty for more than 22 years. A member of the Florida Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Guy has also served as medical advisor for the American Cancer Society and has been an ASPS Member Surgeon since 1986.
Over the years, Dr. Guy has published multiple papers and abstracts. She has delivered more than 100 presentations and has appeared on dozens of television programs including The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Today Show to educate the public and her peers on various topics in plastic surgery including breast reconstruction, facial reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. In 1996 and 1997, Dr. Guy served as president of The Medical Staff and chair, Medical Staff Executive Committee, at HolmesRegionalMedicalCenter. Dr. Guy is also a member of the staff at the following Florida facilities: WuesthoffMelbourneHospital, Palm BayCommunityHospital and HealthSouthAmbulatorySurgeryCenter. Dr. Guy was named Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Alumnus of the Year for 2004 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to medicine and distinguished service to humankind. She also was listed in the Guide to America’s Top Surgeons from 2003 – 2007 and has been an active member in 17 different medical associations. Dr. Guy’s areas of specialty are breast surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, liposuction and body contouring, laser resurfacing and skin care.
Michael Kane M.D.
Dr. Kane is a noted plastic surgeon who has lectured internationally at the forefront of non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Dr. Kane graduated from the Jefferson Medical College five year Program in Cooperative Medical Education, attaining both his undergraduate degree and medical degree in only five years. He was a member of the Hobart Hare Honor Society in medical school. Dr. Kane then completed a general surgery residency at New York Medical College. This residency was based at Lincoln Hospital which was at the epicenter of the urban violence which plagued the South Bronx in the eighties. While this violence was tragic for the residents of that area, it afforded Dr. Kane a tremendous amount of surgical experience that he would not have received anywhere else. Dr. Kane’s plastic surgical training consisted of a residency at Wright State University and the fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. During this fellowship, Dr. Kane studied under several of the nation’s pre-eminent cosmetic plastic surgeons and also operated on his own patients. It was during this fellowship in 1991 that Dr. Kane developed a strong interest in non-surgical facial rejuvenation by injecting Botox throughout the face.
Dr. Kane’s work has been published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, The Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Dermatologic Surgery, and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is also the author of The Botox Book. He has other varied interests. He is an avid surfer and has studied film at NYU and Graphic Design and Advertising at Parsons School of Design. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Bruce E. Katz, M.D.
Dr. Bruce Katz is Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, Director of the Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Clinic at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, and Director of the Juva Skin & Laser Center in New York.
Dr. Katz, who has been named repeatedly by New York Magazine as one of the best doctors in New York, received his medical training at McGill University Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, Canada. He completed his post-graduate training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident in Dermatology.
A frequent guest on national and international news shows including The Dr. Oz Show, The Doctors, The View, 20/20, Good Morning America, and CNN, Dr. Katz is a leading innovator of advanced laser technology, Smart liposuction, and skin rejuvenation techniques. He has published extensively in leading medical and scientific journals and lectures regularly at medical symposia in the United States and abroad.
A national spokesman for the Skin Cancer Foundation, Dr. Katz holds leadership positions in many local, state, and national professional organizations. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery. He is Past President of the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York.
Krystie P. Lennox PA-C
Krystie P. Lennox PA-C graduated from BarryUniversity in Miami,Floridawith a Masters of Clinical Medical Sciences in 2004. Miss Lennox began her career specializing in cosmetic and general dermatology with Dr. Kenneth Beer. During her fellowship with Dr. Beer, she participated in numerous clinical trials as well as with the development of training materials and marketing programs.
Miss Lennox has numerous publications that have appeared in leading journals such as Drugs in Dermatology, Cosmetic Dermatology, The Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Advance for Physician Assistants, The Journal of Dermatology for Physician Assistants and Skin & Aging. She is currently the Cosmetic Dermatology Department Editor of Advance News Magazine for Physician Assistants. Krystie is also a Laser Trainer/Consultant for Sciton Laser Co. Presently, Miss Lennox is writing a chapter on Intense Pulsed Light in conjunction with Dr. Jason N. Pozner and Dr. David J. Goldberg for the upcoming Elsevier series. Her current affiliations include Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, Association of Clinical Research Professionals, AmericanAcademy of Physician Assistants, and ASLMS. Krystie Lennox is currently working at the Sanctuary Medical Aesthetic Center in Boca Raton, FL as the clinical director with Dr. Jason N. Pozner and Dr. David J. Goldberg. Most recently, she was elected Educational Chair of the Allied Health Division of ASLMS.
Jason Pozner M.D., F.A.C.S.
Jason Pozner MD, FACS can truly claim aesthetic surgery and skin care as his life’s work. The son of the owner of a successful health spa and diet center in New York, Pozner is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and American Board of Surgery, Dr. Pozner is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the most prestigious organization of its kind, and is a respected authority on surgical laser procedures.
Dr. Pozner graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine with a Distinction in Research, where he trained for five years in an intensive general surgery residency. After becoming Chief Resident in 1992, he completed his Plastic Surgery residency at New York’s Downstate Medical Center as well as two fellowships in Microsurgery and Aesthetic Surgery at Maryland’s esteemed John Hopkins Hospital.

Renato Saltz, M.D., F.A.C.S.
President Elect, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Dr. Saltz is board certified in Plastic Surgery and General Surgery. He has a special interest in cosmetic surgery including: facial rejuvenation, body contouring, breast surgery, and breast reconstruction after mastectomy. He is one of the pioneers in endoscopic plastic surgery. His general surgery residency was completed at the University of Miami’s JacksonMemorialHospital and his plastic surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Roberta Sengelmann, M.D.
Dr. Roberta Sengelmann, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist practicing dermatologic and cosmetic surgery in St Louis, Missouri and Santa Barbara, Caliornia. She recently stepped down from her post at Washington University where she was an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Otolaryngology and Director of the Center for Dermatologic and Cosmetic Surgery. At Washington University, she oversaw resident education in dermatologic surgery and ran a Mohs/Advanced Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship.
She completed her residency in Dermatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center/MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and went on to complete a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic/Advanced Dermatologic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Through hands-on preceptorships with the field’s leading experts, she refined her techniques in cutaneous laser resurfacing, tumescent liposuction, and facial rejuvenation surgery.
Her practice focuses on treatment of skin cancer as well as minimally invasive aesthetic enhancement. This includes tumescent liposuction, Autologous fat transfer, laser surgery, chemical peels, botulinum toxin injections, soft tissue augmentation, blepharoplasty, and minimal incision rhytidectomy surgery.
She is primary investigator or collaborator on several research projects, authored various manuscripts and abstracts, and presents nationally in her areas of interest – namely, skin cancer, aging, and their treatment. She is an editor of the premier dermatologic surgery textbook, Surgery of the Skin, which was released in spring 2005.
She is an active member of her specialty's key orqanizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgery, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. She has recently served on the Board of Directors of the American College of Mohs Surgery, and ex Board member of both the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons and the International Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative.
While most of her free time is spent with her physician spouse and two toddlers, as a native of southern California, Dr. Sengelmann enjoys outdoor sports ranging from running and hiking to snow skiing and horseback riding. She is the daughter of an L.A. based plastic surgeon, Dr Robert P. Sengelmann who is now retired but has always been a key mentor to her.
Christopher Zachary M.D.
A dermatologist specializing in cutaneous oncology and reconstruction, cosmetic and laser surgery, Dr. Christopher Zachary is professor and chair, department of dermatology, University of California- Irvine. Dr. Zachary is frequently featured as an invited speaker at national and international symposia and is often sought out by the media (eg NY Times, CNN, Today Show) for his candid comments. His ability to critique has drawn some ire, but so far his humor and English accent have saved him from his detractors. His interest in lasers has led to considerable industry supported research in optimal systems for cutaneous laser surgery. He has been the program director for the Mohs College and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery Annual Conferences. He is a past president of the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons. He is an educational innovator having founded both www.MDlive.net and co-founded www.cme.md. He has written and edited his share of papers and books. Dr. Zachary was born in Yorkshire, England, and educated at Ratcliffe College, Leicester, United Kingdom. Following his medical school education at the Royal Free Hospital, University of London, he subsequently trained in internal medicine and dermatology. During his time at the Institute of Dermatology, Guys and St. Thomas' Hospitals, he gained an interest in dermatologic surgery. His formal surgical education was received at the department of dermatology, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He returned to the United Kingdom in 1986 to set up the first Mohs and laser surgery unit in London. In 1988 he was recruited to the department of dermatology, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, as director of the Cutaneous Surgery and Laser Center where he spent the next 9 years. In 1997 he sold his boat and lakeside cabin, and moved West to UCSF where he spent 8 splendid years with his friend and colleague Roy Grekin, M.D. as clinical professor and co-director of the Cutaneous Surgery and Laser Center, UCSF, San Francisco, California. In 2005, he accepted the position as professor and chair, department of dermatology at the University of California-Irvine where he currently resides. This and his family are his main current projects. |
