Doug C. Broadfield, PhD

Doug Broadfield is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is Director of Anatomy and Director of the Willed-Body Program. He received his Ph.D. from the New York Consortium in Evolutionary Primatology. He has held faculty appointments at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Florida Atlantic University before moving to the University of Miami. In 2018 he was recognized as one of the top educators in the school of medicine. Doug’s research focuses on comparative anatomy and paleoneurology. He has more than 50 publications, and his book The Human Fossil Record: The Human Brain Evolving was recognized as the top professional publication. His current research includes human plaeoneurology, primate comparative neurology and language evolution. His most recent book is The Human Brain Evolving.
